May 2021, Sketchbook "Lupe la dauphine", creative process (mixed media: analogue and digital photos collage).
Position: creator/designer.
I chose this Sketchbook page because it works as a mind map of my creative process during the development of my artwork "Lupe la dauphine". In it, I explain concepts, the color palette, textures and compositional and artistic elements that build the poetic universe around my version of Lupe.
May 2021, Lupe la Dauphine, digital collage printed in cotton canvas.
Position: creator/photographer/designer.
This piece was inspired by the Queen Marie Antoinette, reinterpreted and ironized from my family's French-Belgian background, by taking elements from the art scenery from that time: Romanticism and excessive baroque, rethought and deconstructed in a portrait. I also took Sofia Coppola's artistic proposal for her film Marie Antoinette as a source of inspiration.
June 2021, Lupe cards, mixed media (digitally designed then printed cards).
Position: designer.
Many pieces broke down from the investigation and development of my project "Lupe la Dauphine". One of them is this ready-made, most precisely inspired by one of the scenes of Sofia Coppola's film in which the Queen plays poker. This is an artwork shaped as a deck of cards, where all of its symbolism is born from the re-signification given to Lupe as the Queen of France.
